UMNO Youth chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh has hit back at Hulu Langat MP Mohd Sany Hamzan after the latter mocked him for selling fish.
Akmal said at least he was not like DAP leaders who sought public donations to pay fines.
“You can mock me for selling fish all you want, Sany. At least I sell my own fish and use my own money without spending a single sen of public funds,” he said in a Facebook post on Saturday.
“Your DAP friends ask for donations, yet you remain silent,” he added.
Previously, Sany had taken a swipe at a youth leader from a political party who had repeatedly used the slogan of defending the Malays, Islam and the royal institution, but whom he accused of taking an inconsistent position on an issue involving Negeri Sembilan’s royal institution.
During his debate on Budget 2027 in the Dewan Rakyat, Sany questioned those who used race, religion and royalty sentiments to gain political support.
He referred to a youth leader who now sells fish but had previously declared, “Don’t touch our king, religion and race.”
In response, Akmal pointed out that some people also sold underwear to raise funds.
“You don’t mock them for that either,” he said.
“Have you forgotten that the big boss must not be touched?” he added.
