Hotels Around Sepang And Putrajaya Fill Up After Malaysia Confirmed As Host Of Bahrain F1 GP

Date:

Hotels in and around Sepang and Putrajaya are reportedly filling up fast after Malaysia was officially confirmed as the host of the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix this October.

The buzz began on social media, with several Threads users claiming that many hotels had either sold out or stopped accepting bookings for the race weekend following the announcement.

One user, identified as Mike1ros.jpg, said most of the five-star hotels closest to the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) were already fully booked shortly after the news broke.

“Almost all the five-star hotels nearest to Sepang International Circuit are fully booked for those dates,” the user wrote.

The Bahrain Grand Prix is scheduled to take place from 2 to 4 October, one week before the Singapore Grand Prix.

Other social media users also claimed that hotels in Putrajaya had experienced a surge in demand, with many reporting that accommodation had already reached full capacity.

“Many hotels, especially the five-star ones, are already fully booked,” commented user Samwukong00, while another user, Mshahbak, remarked, “By the time you posted this, all the hotels were already fully booked.”

Earlier, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that Malaysia is ready to host the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix at the Sepang International Circuit.

Anwar said the opportunity reflects the confidence that Bahrain, Formula 1 and the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) have in Malaysia’s ability to stage a world-class motorsport event.

The announcement came after discussions between Anwar, Bahrain Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and Formula 1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali.
