Malaysian Star Sivasangari Storms Into PSA Tour Finals Final

Date:

S. Sivasangari has etched her name into Malaysian squash history after becoming the first Malaysian woman since Nicol David in 2012 to reach the PSA Squash Tour Finals.

The world No. 5 secured her place in the final after pulling off a stunning victory over Egypt’s top seed Amina Orfi in a thrilling semi-final clash in Paris yesterday evening.

Sivasangari, the fourth seed, won 8-11, 11-10, 11-8, 11-10 in a tense 74-minute battle that kept fans on edge throughout the match.

She will now face second seed Hania El Hammamy of Egypt in today’s final, setting up another tough test on the international stage.

However, statistics are not in her favour, with Sivasangari having won only two of their previous 10 encounters.

Her two wins came at the Women’s Squash Championships in 2017 and the London Squash Classic in 2024.

The Kedah-born star is also aiming to add another title to her growing collection this year, having already won the 2026 Grasshopper Cup in Zurich in April.
