PM Anwar Launches DNA Faisal Halim Football Academy In Penang

Date:

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim today officially launched the DNA Faisal Halim Football Academy in Mengkuang Titi, Penang, in a move aimed at strengthening grassroots football development and nurturing young sporting talent in the country.

In a Facebook post, Anwar said the academy is more than just a training centre, describing it as a platform to shape discipline, fighting spirit and self-confidence among the younger generation.

“I believe the future of the nation’s sports industry depends on how we nurture young talents with strong values, hard work, good character and determination,” he said.

The Prime Minister also expressed hope that the academy would produce more promising footballers capable of carrying Malaysia’s name proudly onto bigger international stages in the future.

The academy is linked to national football star Faisal Halim, who is widely known by fans as Mickey and regarded as one of the key attacking players for both the Malaysia national football team and Selangor FC.

Faisal has built a strong reputation for his pace, agility and consistent performances in both domestic competitions and international matches, making him one of the country’s most recognisable football talents today.

The launch of the academy is also seen as a positive boost for Malaysian football, especially as efforts continue to strengthen youth development programmes and discover future stars at grassroots level.
