Police Probe Viral Video Of Express Bus Allegedly Driving Dangerously On Ranau–Telupid Road

Date:

Police have launched an investigation into a viral Facebook video showing an express bus allegedly being driven dangerously along the Ranau–Telupid road.

Beluran district police chief Supt Hasan Majid said the incident took place at around 11.30pm on August 20, 2026, when the bus allegedly overtook another vehicle.

The manoeuvre reportedly forced a Toyota single-cab pickup to move onto the road shoulder to avoid a possible collision.

The 62-year-old bus driver and the 34-year-old pickup driver escaped unhurt, while both vehicles were reported to have suffered no damage.

Police are investigating the incident under Section 42 of the Road Transport Act 1987, which covers reckless and dangerous driving.

The offence also allows police to make an arrest without a warrant as investigations into the alleged road violation continue.
