Driver Dies After Car Skids and Plunges into River in Changlun

A 36-year-old man was killed early this morning after his car skidded and plunged into a river at Taman Jelutong.

Kubang Pasu police chief Supt Mohd Radzi Abdul Rahim identified the victim as Muhammad Faiz Zainal from Kampung Padang 1, Bukit Kayu Hitam.

A police patrol vehicle responded to the incident at 3.07am following a report that a car had skidded near Pak Andak’s Nasi Ganja Shop. Fire and rescue personnel, together with an ambulance, arrived at 5.33am and found the victim inside a Nissan Almera.

Muhammad Faiz was pronounced dead at the scene, and his body was taken to Jitra Hospital.

Police believe the vehicle skidded before plunging into the river. The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
