The Sarawak Government’s e-wallet, S PAY GLOBAL, has launched a new feature allowing users to access DuitNow services in partnership with Payments Network Malaysia (PayNet).

Dato Dr. Anderson Tiong Ing Heng, General Manager of the Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA), explained that S PAY GLOBAL users can now scan DuitNow QR codes from other e-wallet apps, while users of other apps can scan S PAY GLOBAL QR codes at participating merchants.
“This initiative aims to improve connectivity and streamline transactions, providing Sarawakians with a more convenient and efficient payment experience,” he said.
Since its launch in 2017, S PAY GLOBAL has processed RM4.3 billion in payments across 118 million transactions, with over 780,000 registered users and 92,000 participating merchants.
Speaking after a courtesy visit to Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg, Dr. Anderson said the collaboration with PayNet aligns with Sarawak’s vision for a digital, inclusive, and competitive economy under the Sarawak Digital Economy (SDE) Action Plan 2030.
S PAY GLOBAL has become the leading payment app in Sarawak, especially in rural areas, facilitating utility bill payments and daily transactions.
