Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has confirmed that U.S. President Donald Trump will attend the ASEAN Summit this October. The announcement came following a phone call between Anwar and Trump earlier today.
This aligns with earlier remarks made by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who recently hinted at Trump’s possible attendance at the regional summit.
In a separate announcement during the tabling of the 13th Malaysia Plan in Parliament, Anwar also revealed that a new tariff rate for Malaysia will be unveiled tomorrow.
“God willing, it will not pose a burden on our economy,” he assured.
