Makeup Artist Pleads Not Guilty To Sexual Assault Of Male Client In Kuching

Date:

A 24-year-old makeup artist pleaded not guilty at the Kuching Magistrates’ Court to a charge of sexually assaulting a man, according to reports from The Borneo Post.

The accused appeared before Magistrate Nursyaheeqa Nazwa Radzali after the charge was read out. He is alleged to have used criminal force against a 30-year-old client at a service apartment along Jalan Wan Alwi at around 5.40am on Saturday, in a manner intended to outrage the victim’s modesty.

The offence is framed under Section 354 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum punishment of 10 years’ imprisonment, a fine, caning, or any combination thereof upon conviction.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Muhammad Afiq Safly Nor Kazly requested a new date for pre-trial case management, which was set for March 6.

Defence counsel Abdul Rahman Mohamad Hazmi argued that the accused posed no flight risk or risk of failing to attend court. Bail was granted at RM2,500 with two sureties.
