Umno Ramadan Reconciliation: Party Invites Expelled And Suspended Members To Return

Date:

Umno has extended an invitation to former members who were expelled or suspended, encouraging them to return to the party fold.

Party president, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, explained that the initiative reflects the spirit of Ramadan, a period traditionally associated with forgiveness and renewal. He emphasised that past disagreements and mistakes would be fully set aside to allow a fresh start in strengthening Umno’s political family.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the holy month provides an ideal opportunity to reconnect members with the party’s mission, fostering reflection, reconciliation, and deeper bonds of brotherhood.

To facilitate the process, Umno’s Rumah Bangsa Committee, chaired by vice-president Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, will oversee the rejoining of former members in line with the party’s constitution.

“May Allah ease this effort and may it serve as a unifying step to strengthen the party,” Ahmad Zahid said, adding that this renewed unity would support Umno’s continued struggle for religion, race, and nation.
