Motorcyclist Arrested After Allegedly Kicking Car At Kajang Toll Plaza

Date:

A motorcyclist who allegedly committed an act of mischief against a vehicle at the Kajang Toll Plaza along the Kajang–Seremban Highway (LEKAS) heading south on Sunday has been arrested by police.

Kajang District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof said authorities were alerted to a viral video lasting about one minute and 26 seconds circulating on social media, which captured the incident. The case quickly drew public attention, reflecting growing concerns over road rage incidents on Malaysian highways.

“The incident is believed to have occurred at around 4pm. We received a report from a 65-year-old local man who works as an e-hailing driver,” he said in a statement on Monday.

According to Naazron, the victim’s Proton Saga sustained damage to the front left section, allegedly after being kicked by the suspect during the altercation. The situation highlights the potential dangers of confrontations on busy roads, especially in high-traffic areas such as toll plazas.

Acting on the report, a team from the Kajang District Criminal Investigation Division arrested a 24-year-old local man employed in the private sector in the Kajang area on Monday afternoon to assist in investigations.

“The case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief,” he added, noting that appropriate legal action will be taken based on the findings.

Naazron also urged members of the public, particularly road users, to remain considerate, comply with traffic laws and regulations, and practise safe driving at all times to ensure the safety of all.
