A laundromat at Pasar Besar Wakaf Bharu was left in shock after its glass front entrance was smashed when a Honda City driven by a woman crashed into the premises on Thursday.
Tumpat district police chief Mohd Khairi Shafie said police received a report from the 32-year-old male owner of the premises at about 12.40pm regarding the incident.
Preliminary investigations found that the incident occurred at around 11.20am when the woman, believed to be in her 50s, was driving from Jalan Puteri Saadong towards the area.
Police said the driver had made a U-turn before allegedly stepping on the accelerator unintentionally.
The sudden acceleration caused the vehicle to lunge forward and crash into the glass front of the laundromat.
As a result of the impact, the glass door of the premises was shattered. However, no injuries were reported in the incident.
Authorities confirmed that the case is being investigated under Regulation 10 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959.
Police have also urged members of the public with information regarding the incident to contact the Tumpat District Police Headquarters to assist investigations.
