Pahang Crown Prince Issues Stern Warning Over 3R Exploitation

Date:

The Tengku Mahkota of Pahang, Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah, has issued a strong warning against any attempts to disrupt harmony in the state through the manipulation of sensitive race, religion and royalty (3R) issues.

Opening the 15th Pahang State Legislative Assembly sitting at Wisma Sri Pahang on Friday, he stressed that there will be no compromise for individuals or groups who exploit such sensitive matters.

He said all parties, regardless of background, must act responsibly and uphold respect, tolerance and the rule of law in all matters affecting public order.

“I want 3R issues to stop, and there will be no compromise for those who exploit them. Any action that incites hatred between races and religions is absolutely unacceptable,” he said.

Tengku Hassanal also expressed serious concern over a recent incident involving the alleged desecration of the Quran at Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), saying it should not be taken lightly.

He reminded political actors to practise mature politics ahead of the 16th General Election, urging them not to use sensitive issues as tools to divide the people.

The Crown Prince also called on the opposition to play a constructive role as a check and balance, while the government must continue prioritising the welfare of the people without marginalisation.

On matters involving places of worship, Tengku Hassanal said any construction—whether on government or private land—must strictly comply with existing laws and regulations.

He emphasised that harmony must be preserved and should never become a source of conflict among communities.

“No one should act based on emotion, and no one is above the law when it comes to matters that may threaten peace and stability in the state,” he added.
