Pas Youth To File Nationwide Police Reports Over DAPSY Response To Sultan’s Decree

Date:

The youth wing of the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) has announced plans to lodge police reports nationwide following a response by the Democratic Action Party Socialist Youth (DAPSY) regarding a decree by the Sultan of Selangor on the issue of pig farming in the state.

PAS Youth chief Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden said the movement would not back down in defending the decree issued by the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, and warned parties against making light of the matter.

In a statement posted on Facebook on Friday, Afnan stressed that PAS Youth remained committed to upholding the royal decree.

“We will not retreat from defending the decree of His Royal Highness the Sultan of Selangor,” he said.

He also warned that those who were seen as disrespecting the Sultan’s decree should not continue holding positions of power, adding that PAS Youth would proceed with police reports across the country.

Earlier, DAPSY criticised Afnan’s move to threaten nationwide police reports should the Unity Government fail to apologise over issues linked to pig farming operations.

In its response, DAPSY said it was unfazed by the warning and instead urged Afnan to apologise to Malaysians for what it described as opportunistic remarks that could potentially incite hatred.

The exchange has further intensified political tensions surrounding the sensitive issue, with both sides standing firm on their positions while public debate over the matter continues to grow online.
