A leader from Parti Keadilan Rakyat Youth has urged former PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli to leave the party honourably and clearly state his political position.
PKR Youth (AMK) executive council member Dzul Hilmi Zainol said the same should also apply to former PKR vice-president Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad if both leaders are no longer aligned with the party’s struggle and direction.
According to him, party members should not be left questioning their leaders’ intentions while PKR continues to face prolonged political speculation and internal polemics.
“Mature politics requires honesty, not continuous sarcasm.”
“If they have truly lost confidence in the party’s struggle and direction, then Rafizi Ramli and Nik Nazmi should be transparent with party members and the public.
“Do not continue playing political tug-of-war while retaining the Pandan and Setiawangsa parliamentary seats and continuing to influence supporters within PKR,” he said in a statement on Thursday.
Dzul Hilmi was commenting on Rafizi and Nik Nazmi’s announcement that they are expected to reveal their new political direction on May 17 after previously resigning from the Cabinet.
Rafizi, who is also the Pandan MP, said the decision came after spending nearly a year evaluating various views, considerations and factors before deciding on his next political move.
The announcement event is scheduled to take place at PJ Performing Arts Centre (PJPAC) in Petaling Jaya.
Further commenting on the matter, Dzul Hilmi stressed that PKR was built on the spirit of struggle and not as a platform for personal pressure tactics or divisive political games.
He said grassroots members had worked tirelessly to defend parliamentary and state assembly seats through difficult times and victories, not to witness party leaders sending confusing political signals to members.
