Three people were killed while another suffered serious injuries after the car they were travelling in crashed into the rear of a cement lorry at Kilometre 34 of the Karak Highway heading towards Kampung Sungai Chinchin early Friday morning.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) operations assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar said the department received an emergency call regarding the incident at 2.07am.
A team from the Selayang Fire and Rescue Station was immediately dispatched to the scene.
The crash involved a Volkswagen car that slammed into the back of a cement lorry.
“All four victims were trapped inside the vehicle. A 27-year-old woman sustained serious head injuries and a fractured left leg, while three male victims in their 20s were pronounced dead at the scene,” he said in a statement on Friday.
Firefighters successfully extricated all victims before handing them over to the Health Ministry for further action.
The operation was brought under control at about 3.15am.
