A woman was killed while five others, including two children, were injured in a road accident involving an MPV and a car near a petrol station at Caltex Laloh this morning.
The victim, identified as Safinaz Razmi, 52, who was travelling in a Perodua Bezza, was confirmed dead at the scene by Ministry of Health personnel.
Kuala Krai Fire and Rescue Station chief Nik Ahmad Afsham Nik Pa said his department received an emergency call via the NG999 line at 7.18am before seven firefighters were deployed to the location.
He said the crash involved a Toyota Alphard carrying six occupants, including two boys who were injured, while the Perodua Bezza had four occupants.
“One woman was confirmed dead, while three others in the Bezza sustained injuries,” he said.
Firefighters worked to extricate trapped victims at the scene before handing over the deceased to police for further action.
He added that the injured victims were transported to Hospital Sultan Ismail Petra (HSIP) for further treatment via ambulance and Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS).
