Man Fighting For Life After Car-Pedestrian Collision, Driver Arrested

A man is fighting for his life after a collision between a car and a pedestrian in Golders Green, London, on Wednesday evening.

Emergency services were called to Golders Green Road at around 8.20pm following reports of a serious crash involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.

The victim, a 41-year-old Iranian national, was found injured at the scene and rushed to hospital, where he remains in a life-threatening condition.

Police said the driver of the vehicle, a 39-year-old Iraqi national, has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm by dangerous driving and failing to provide a drug sample.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed the incident is not being treated as terrorism and is instead being investigated by the Serious Collision Investigation Unit.

Detective Chief Superintendent Luke Williams said officers are working urgently to establish the circumstances and urged witnesses to come forward.

He added that police are aware of videos circulating online and warned against sharing graphic footage to protect the integrity of the investigation.
