PKR central leadership council member Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir has said that former party deputy president Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli is free to join any political party as part of the democratic process.
He said every individual has the right to choose a political platform that aligns with their personal aspirations and political direction.
Akmal, who is also the Johor Bahru Member of Parliament, stressed that this reflects a healthy and mature political culture within the country.
He added that political participation should remain open, allowing individuals the space to pursue their chosen paths.
His remarks come amid questions over the establishment of Bersama, a political party linked to Rafizi and former PKR vice-president Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad.
When asked whether he would follow Rafizi’s move, Akmal declined to comment on his own political direction.
Akmal was previously seen as aligned with Rafizi’s faction within PKR.
Rafizi and Nik Nazmi had resigned from PKR on May 17, along with vacating their parliamentary seats, before taking over the newly revived Bersama party.
