A freelance dancer pleaded not guilty at the Seremban Sessions Court today to charges of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old boy and committing carnal intercourse against the order of nature without consent.
Nazri Lanibi entered the plea after the charges were read before Judge Shahrul Rizal Majid.
According to the charge, he is accused of committing carnal intercourse against the order of nature with the teenager without his consent at the China National Convention Center Grand Hotel in Beijing, China, in June 2025.
The offence was framed under Section 377C of the Penal Code, which carries a jail sentence of between five and 20 years and whipping upon conviction.
Nazri was also charged with sexually assaulting the same victim at the same location on June 20 and 21, 2025.
The charge was framed under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, which provides for imprisonment of up to 20 years and whipping upon conviction.
Deputy public prosecutor Zul Azrin Zainuddin proposed bail of RM20,000 for each charge.
Defence counsel Hanif Hassan appealed for a lower bail amount, saying his client supports a sister undergoing cancer treatment and a nephew with a mental disability.
The court allowed bail at RM14,000 for both charges and fixed July 6 for mention of the case.
