Bentong MP Young Syefura Othman has expressed disappointment over an alleged theft incident involving an individual who had just received assistance at her office on Friday.
According to her, the incident took place while a staff member was handling aid distribution to the individual concerned.
She said the person had been provided assistance, but later allegedly took personal belongings belonging to an officer on duty and used the staff member’s bank card to make a payment transaction.
Young Syefura said she was deeply disappointed as assistance had already been given, yet the theft allegedly still occurred in such circumstances.
She added that a police report has been lodged by the staff member involved, with the matter now left to the authorities for further investigation and action.
She also expressed hope that the officer’s situation would be eased and that such incidents would not be repeated in the future.
Earlier, she shared closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage showing two individuals at the premises, with one seen carrying a plastic bag believed to contain the recently received aid items.
