MUDA will announce its contested seats and candidate lineup after its Political Bureau retreat scheduled from June 10 to 12 in Muar.
Party president Amira Aisya Abdul Aziz said the final list of constituencies and candidates will first be confirmed by her and the party’s Candidate Selection Committee.
She said the committee has already received applications from aspiring candidates, which will be assessed and shortlisted ahead of the 16th state election.
She stressed that MUDA candidates must be Johor-born, well-versed with state issues, and capable of effectively representing constituents in the state assembly.
“We do not want last-minute selections. We want candidates who can serve, propose policies, and solve rakyat’s problems,” she said during a tea session with the media.
Amira added that the party will also decide whether to contest solo or form an electoral pact with other parties after the retreat.
She confirmed that MUDA will continue using its own logo in the upcoming election, as it did in previous state polls.
However, she declined to confirm whether she would defend her Puteri Wangsa seat or contest in another constituency.
