Woman’s Viral E-Hailing Ride Complaint Sparks Debate Over Vehicle Hygiene

Date:

A woman’s account of an unpleasant e-hailing ride has gone viral after she alleged that the vehicle’s poor condition left her feeling sick during the journey.

Threads user @tengkuafeeza11 shared her experience online, posting a video and several photographs of the vehicle that quickly attracted widespread attention and sparked a mix of amused and disgusted reactions from social media users.

According to the woman, the car appeared to be in an unhygienic condition, with visible mould around the door seals, no functioning air-conditioning and several portable fans placed throughout the vehicle.

“I don’t know whether he wanted to carry passengers or dry bedsheets in the car,” she wrote in the post.

She claimed the ride left her suffering from body aches, headaches, nausea and dizziness.

Images uploaded alongside the post showed pieces of cloth being used as seat covers, while multiple portable fans were positioned inside the vehicle. The driver was also seen wearing a face mask during the trip.

The woman further alleged that the air-conditioning system was switched off throughout the journey, forcing passengers to rely on the small fans for ventilation. She also questioned the purpose of an additional fan placed underneath one of the seats.

The post has since generated a flood of comments, with many users expressing disbelief at the vehicle’s condition.

Some jokingly remarked that even the driver appeared to need a face mask while inside the car, while others urged the e-hailing company to investigate the matter.

Several users also advised the woman to file a formal complaint with the platform and relevant authorities.

One commenter questioned why the driver had not simply opened the windows if the air-conditioning was not working.

“If the air-conditioning was off, why not open the windows at least? The passenger would not have felt nauseous in the car,” the user wrote.

Another social media user urged the woman to leave a one-star rating and submit a report through customer service.

“You have video evidence, right? Next time, if you get a car like this, just cancel the ride,” the commenter said.
