A timber factory along Jalan Kapar Batu 5½, Klang, was damaged in an early morning fire on Friday, prompting a swift response from firefighters.
According to Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Assistant Director of Operations Ashrul Riezal Asbar, emergency services received a distress call at 1.05am, with firefighting teams immediately dispatched to the scene.
A total of 21 firefighters from the Klang Utara Fire and Rescue Station, assisted by personnel from the Kapar and Pelabuhan Klang fire stations, were deployed together with several fire engines to tackle the blaze.
Fire crews arrived at the factory approximately six minutes after receiving the emergency call and found a Class B timber factory partially engulfed in flames. Initial estimates indicated that around 40 per cent of the building had been affected by the fire.
Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were reported in the incident.
Firefighters successfully brought the blaze under control by 2.05am before continuing with extinguishing work and inspections to ensure there were no remaining hotspots that could reignite the fire.
Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the blaze, while the total value of the losses is still being assessed as investigations continue.
