Two Teenage Girls Killed In Crash Involving Motorcycle And Two Cars In Teluk Intan

Two teenage girls lost their lives after the motorcycle they were riding was involved in a collision with two cars along Jalan Padang Tembak in Teluk Intan on Saturday evening.

Hilir Perak district police chief Assistant Commissioner Chua Kok Lian said police received a report about the incident at approximately 6.35pm.

Preliminary investigations revealed that a 28-year-old driver is believed to have lost control of his car while attempting to overtake another vehicle. The car then crashed into a motorcycle, another vehicle travelling ahead, and a young boy who was standing by the roadside.

The two teenage girls, who were the rider and pillion passenger of the motorcycle, were pronounced dead at the scene due to the impact of the crash.

The 28-year-old driver and the injured boy were taken to Teluk Intan Hospital for medical treatment.

Police have detained the driver to assist with investigations, while efforts are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the accident.

Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the collision or has information related to the incident to contact investigating traffic officer Inspector Mohd Amirrudin Shafiei at 013-9126959 or visit the nearest police station.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
