Police have arrested a man in Kampung Kilugus, Menumbok, after he allegedly threatened his own family with dangerous objects in a case of criminal intimidation.
District Police Chief Superintendent Champin Piuh said officers from the Menumbok Police Station detained the suspect after receiving a police report. The man’s alleged actions caused family members to fear for their safety.
“The suspect has been arrested, and a remand application will be submitted before the investigation papers are referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor’s Office,” Champin said.
He warned that drug abuse, particularly methamphetamine, can lead to aggressive behaviour, impaired judgement and violent actions, including making threats or causing harm to family members.
Champin urged the public to stay away from drugs and report any suspicious or threatening behaviour to the police to help prevent similar incidents.
In a separate operation at Kampung Klias Kecil, police also arrested another man after he tested positive for methamphetamine during a drug screening.
Champin said police will continue intensifying anti-drug operations across the district and called on the public to cooperate by reporting drug-related activities to the authorities.
