PM Anwar Urges Public To Give Advice, Not Undermine MADANI Administration

Date:

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has urged the public to continue providing feedback and advice if he makes mistakes, while stressing that criticism should not cross into insults or claims that the MADANI government has achieved nothing.

Anwar said he remained open to constructive criticism and acknowledged that every administration would have weaknesses that needed to be addressed and improved.

“Correct me and advise me, but do not insult by saying that we have done nothing,” he said during the Kuala Pilah Berselawat and Munajat Perdana Negeri Sembilan programme at Dataran Melang here on Thursday night.

The Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman said the government should be given the opportunity and space to rectify shortcomings and address issues inherited from previous administrations.

Anwar, who is also Finance Minister, said the MADANI government remained committed to strengthening efforts to support the people, including improving the position of Malays who require assistance and upholding Islamic values through actions and good governance.

He added that the government was continuing efforts to reduce the financial burden faced by Malaysians amid current economic pressures.

Anwar highlighted the reduction of RON95 petrol prices to RM1.99 per litre as an example of the government’s commitment to easing the people’s cost of living, despite bearing around RM40 billion annually in subsidies.

He said the government had continued absorbing rising costs, including higher import expenses and living expenses, to prevent further pressure on the public.

Anwar added that the administration would continue doing its best to ease the people’s burden while improving areas that still require attention.
