Seven Arrested Six Hours After Armed Robbery At Ampang Residence

Date:

Police have arrested seven individuals, including two teenage girls, about six hours after a 21-year-old man was allegedly robbed by a group of armed men at a residence along Jalan Ampang.

The victim lodged a police report at around 9.02pm after he was confronted and robbed by four unknown men while he was at the residence.

Wangsa Maju District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Annas Sulaiman said officers from the Criminal Investigation Division of Wangsa Maju District Police Headquarters (IPD) carried out a raid at about 3am the following day.

He said the operation at a car park area along Jalan Metro Pudu resulted in the arrest of five men aged between 22 and 38, along with two females aged 13 and 19.

“Police also seized a mobile phone believed to be linked to the case,” he said in a statement.

Annas said all suspects have been remanded and placed at the Jinjang Central Lock-up to assist with further investigations.

He urged members of the public with information related to the incident to contact the Wangsa Maju District Control Centre, Kuala Lumpur Police Hotline, or the nearest police station.

The case is being investigated under Sections 395 and 397 of the Penal Code for gang robbery and armed robbery.
