PM Anwar Vows Stronger Security At Malaysia’s Entry Points

Date:

Security measures at all entry points nationwide will be further strengthened through more effective enforcement, continuous surveillance and closer cooperation between government agencies, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said.

He said the move was necessary to prevent cross-border criminal activities while ensuring Malaysia’s security and sovereignty remain protected.

Anwar said the government would continue to uphold the decree of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, by improving governance, enforcement and national security for the well-being of the rakyat.

He said this in a social media post on Saturday (Aug 8) following an audience with Sultan Ibrahim.

Anwar also said the findings contained in the Royal Commission of Inquiry report on Lembaga Tabung Haji would be thoroughly investigated in accordance with the King’s decree.

He stressed that the Madani administration remained committed to ensuring all recommendations and findings from the report were acted upon promptly and without compromise.

According to Anwar, Tabung Haji manages funds entrusted by millions of Malaysians, including farmers, civil servants as well as members of the middle- and lower-income groups who have saved for years to perform the haj.

“Anyone who abuses that trust must be brought to justice,” he said.

Anwar added that Sultan Ibrahim had also raised matters concerning the Federal Land Development Authority (Felda), while being briefed on the progress of investigations and reports conducted by the special task force.

He said the Madani administration would continue to uphold good governance, transparency and accountability, stressing that justice must be maintained and any betrayal of public trust dealt with firmly, regardless of an individual’s position or rank.
