A trailer caught fire along the southbound North-South Expressway at KM269.5 on Wednesday afternoon, forcing three lanes to be closed and causing a traffic jam stretching about 5km.
The incident occurred on the stretch from Nilai towards Bandar Ainsdale and was reported at around 3.22pm.
Viral footage showed the trailer engulfed in flames, with thick black smoke billowing across the expressway.
Following the incident, the emergency lane, left lane and middle lane were closed to traffic, resulting in congestion along the highway.
Astro Radio Traffic reported at 3.30pm that the traffic jam had stretched for about 5km, beginning from the Seremban Rest and Service Area (R&R).
