Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has criticised former Economy Minister Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli over the issue of corporate crime, questioning why he did not raise the matter while still serving in the government.
Anwar said efforts to correct wrongdoing should be made while a person still holds power, rather than only speaking out after leaving office.
“Sometimes, when someone is a minister, they never say anything. That is why I always remind my colleagues in the Cabinet that if they want to use their power properly and correct things, they should do so while they still have the authority.
“Once they retire, leave the Cabinet or become opposition figures, they start speaking out, even though they were previously sitting right here,” he said.
He made the remarks during a Dewan Rakyat sitting on Tuesday.
