DOLLA Makes History As First Malaysian Girl Group To Perform In Paris

Date:

Malaysian girl group DOLLA has made history with its European debut in Paris, performing to an audience of around 2,000 fans at The A Music Festival on 24 October.

The group took to the stage at the Paris Event Centre, drawing fans who travelled from France, the United Kingdom, Germany and Italy to watch them perform.

The milestone marked DOLLA’s first live performance in Europe and made them the first Malaysian girl group to perform in Paris.

During the show, DOLLA performed 12 songs, including their latest release, “UGLY”, alongside fan favourites such as “Impikan”, “Bad” and “Bad Girls Like You”, featuring Tobii.

“This feeling is incredible, and this is such a meaningful opportunity for us to finally get the chance to perform on a European stage for the first time. This is a moment we’ll always remember,” said Angel.

DOLLA Touched By Warm Reception From European Fans

The group said the enthusiastic response from an audience they had never met in person left a lasting impression.

“What surprised me most was how warm and supportive they were,” said Sabronzo.

“Their energy was so infectious that I really didn’t want the performance to end. It felt so special to be welcomed so warmly so far from home.”

Angel also recalled a particularly touching moment when audience members switched on their phone lights during one of the songs, despite some being unfamiliar with the track or not understanding its lyrics.

“The atmosphere in the venue felt like a dream. It’s one of those memories I hope to experience again and again,” she said.

Tabby credited the group’s successful debut to the hard work and preparation put in by the members and their team.

“The audience was incredible! I’m so proud of us and our team for putting on such a great show after pouring so much effort and energy into preparing,” she said.

“This is the first one, and hopefully there will be many more.”

Meeting Fans And Creating Memories In Paris

The two-day A Music Festival brought together Southeast Asian pop and Korean artists, with DOLLA representing Malaysia as the only Malaysian group in the line-up.

On the first day, the group shared the stage with Thailand’s JASP.ER, 4EVE and Tobii, South Korea’s TRENDZ and Jacob, and the Philippines’ ALAMAT.

Beyond the festival, DOLLA met several Paris-based dance crews to film dance covers of their songs together.

The group also held a fan meet at Trocadéro, where they met European supporters, including members of iDOLLA France.

The fan group presented DOLLA with a booklet filled with personal messages, a gift that deeply moved Angel. Sabronzo said the meeting gave the members an opportunity to finally see the faces behind the fan accounts that had supported them online.

“Knowing that our music has reached this far and touched people so deeply that they came to watch us perform, learned our choreography, and even joined us for dance recordings and fan meetings around Paris is truly incredible,” Sabronzo said.

During their visit, the group also met representatives at the Malaysian Embassy to discuss potential collaborations and future opportunities.

They additionally filmed a dance video with the Eiffel Tower in the background, capturing another memorable moment from their Paris trip.

A New Chapter For Malaysian Pop

For Tabby, the appreciation shown by the audience was particularly emotional.

“I almost cried because I was so proud of us, seeing and hearing our hard work appreciated by the audience in Paris,” she said.

DOLLA’s European debut marks a significant milestone for the group, expanding its reach beyond Southeast Asia and strengthening its connection with international fans.

Following the warm reception in Paris, the members are hopeful that the performance will be the first of many opportunities to bring their music to audiences across Europe.
