Malaysia Airlines Warns Of KLIA Traffic Congestion From Oct 30 To Nov 1 During MotoGP Weekend

Date:

Malaysia Airlines is advising passengers departing from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) between Oct 30 and Nov 1 to allow extra travel time due to expected traffic congestion during the 2026 Petronas Grand Prix of Malaysia.

In a statement shared on social media today, the airline warned that heavier traffic and delays were expected on roads surrounding the airport and highways leading to KLIA during the MotoGP event at the Petronas Sepang International Circuit.

Although access to KLIA will remain fully open, passengers are encouraged to check real-time traffic updates from the police, consider alternative routes and use the KLIA Ekspres train service where possible.

Those travelling on international flights are advised to arrive at least three hours before departure, while domestic passengers should reach the airport at least two hours ahead of their scheduled flights.

The airline also reminded passengers that check-in counters for both domestic and international flights will close 60 minutes before departure.

Malaysia Airlines thanked passengers for their understanding and cooperation during the expected peak travel period.
