Malaysia’s Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, will embark on an official visit to Ethiopia, South Africa, and Kenya from tomorrow until 24 November. The trip aims to reinforce bilateral relations, enhance economic cooperation, and explore new investment opportunities in the region.
According to the Prime Minister’s Senior Press Secretary, Tunku Nashrul Abaidah, the visit includes official trips to Ethiopia and Kenya, as well as a working visit to South Africa, using a special chartered flight by Malaysia Airlines. A delegation of officials and business representatives will accompany him to leverage the potential of African markets, in line with the MADANI government’s goal of diversifying markets and strengthening Malaysia’s international presence.
The journey begins in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where the Prime Minister will pay a courtesy call on President Taye Atske Selassie and attend the Malaysia-Ethiopia High-Level Business Forum. He will also hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Dr Abiy Ahmed Ali and witness the signing of several memoranda of understanding (MoUs). The delegation is expected to return to Kuala Lumpur on 25 November. The MADANI government hopes that the series of meetings in Ethiopia, South Africa, and Kenya will strengthen friendships, promote trade, and open new opportunities for the well-being of the Malaysian people. The Prime Minister also seeks the prayers and support of Malaysians for smooth negotiations and fruitful outcomes benefiting all.
