A 14-year-old schoolboy tragically died after collapsing during a rugby training session at a school in Melaka yesterday (June 24), leaving his family and school community in shock and grief.
The incident is reported to have occurred at about 6pm when the victim suddenly collapsed while sitting and listening to a coach’s briefing after a short break from training.
According to NST, the teenager had just completed around 15 minutes of training before resting with teammates when the sudden incident took place during the session.
Family members said they were devastated by the unexpected loss, describing the boy as healthy with no known medical issues or prior complaints of illness.
The victim’s grand-uncle, Yahya Endut, who had cared for him since childhood, said the teenager was staying at the school hostel and had always appeared fit and active.
