Villagers Shocked as 100kg Python Spotted in Merlimau

Date:

Residents of Kampung Sebatu, Merlimau, were left stunned after a massive 6.5-metre python, estimated to weigh around 100kg, was discovered coiled behind a local home last night.

The Jasin Civil Defence Force (APM) received a report at approximately 9pm after the homeowner noticed the snake lurking in a poorly lit area behind the house.

Captain (PA) Mohamad Fairul Asikin Kadir said a four-man team was dispatched and arrived within an hour.

“The python became aggressive and attempted to strike several times as we approached,” he explained. “After about 10 minutes, we successfully captured it.”

The team later relocated the giant reptile safely to a forested area far from residential zones.
