Firefighters Step In To Catch Escaped Sacrificial Cow

Firefighters were called in to carry out a special operation after a sacrificial cow escaped and ran loose in Bintulu yesterday evening.

The incident occurred at about 6.45pm in front of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Baru Bintulu, raising safety concerns for road users as the animal was seen roaming in a busy area.

A spokesperson from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department Operations Centre said they received an emergency call regarding the incident at 6.45pm.

Following the report, seven firefighters from the Bintulu Fire and Rescue Station were deployed to the scene.

Upon arrival at 7pm, the team confirmed the presence of the escaped sacrificial cow as reported.

The operation team then engaged in a brief struggle before successfully capturing the animal using a rope snare.

The rescue operation began at 7.01pm and was brought under control by 7.42pm.

The cow was safely secured and later handed back to its owner.

Authorities said the successful operation allowed the owner to proceed with the sacrificial ritual as planned.
