A two-year-old girl tragically died after being crushed by a concrete pillar from her house gate in Taman Bukit Kristal, Seremban, last night.
The incident happened around 7:15 p.m. when the victim was reportedly playing with her sister near the gate before the pillar suddenly collapsed onto her.
Seremban District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Hatta Che Din, said the child was rushed to Tuanku Jaafar Hospital (HTJ) by her mother but was pronounced dead at 9:14 p.m.
“The victim’s mother immediately took her to HTJ, but doctors confirmed that the child had passed away at 9:14 p.m.,” he said in a statement today.
A post-mortem examination conducted by the Forensic Medical Unit at Rembau Hospital revealed that the cause of death was severe head injuries caused by a heavy impact.
The case has been classified as a sudden death (SDR).
