65-Year-Old Tourist Slashed by Four Transgender Women in Pattaya Apartment

Date:

A 65-year-old British tourist was violently attacked in a Pattaya apartment early Thursday morning, sustaining multiple head injuries and requiring immediate medical attention. Authorities have identified the suspects as four transgender women, and details of the incident and motive have emerged.

According to Thai Examiner, the incident occurred around 5:30 a.m. on September 12 at a 20th-floor apartment in Pattaya. The victim, Duncan Hamish Kirkwood, reportedly had arranged to meet two young women for companionship but was confronted instead by four transgender women, which he found unacceptable.

When Kirkwood refused to pay the group’s demand of 10,000 Thai Baht per person (totaling 40,000 Baht, roughly NT$38,000), an argument ensued. The women then allegedly attacked him with knives, striking his head multiple times. Kirkwood managed to escape and sought help from building security. Emergency responders immediately provided first aid and transported him to a nearby hospital. Despite the severity of his injuries, he is reportedly in stable condition.

Police confirmed that all suspects are transgender women. While many transgender individuals work in nightlife venues, authorities have expressed growing concern about crimes targeting foreign tourists. Surveillance footage from inside the building reportedly captured the attack and is expected to be crucial in identifying and apprehending the suspects.

Law enforcement in Pattaya has launched a manhunt to prevent the four suspects from fleeing, issuing alerts to transportation authorities and sharing suspect descriptions with relevant agencies.
