Bus Driver Remanded After Red-Light Crash Involving Three Cars In Jalan Klang Lama

A bus driver in his 40s has been arrested and remanded for three days after allegedly running a red light and crashing into three vehicles along Jalan Klang Lama.

Petaling Jaya District Police Chief ACP Shamsudin Mamat confirmed that the suspect is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and dangerous driving.

He said the incident occurred at about 6.20pm yesterday when the bus is believed to have gone through a red light before colliding with three cars.

“One driver sustained minor injuries, while the other motorists were not hurt. The bus driver tested negative for alcohol and drugs during initial screening,” he said in a statement.

Police received a report on the incident at 8.06pm the same day, prompting immediate action and investigations.
