A 77-year-old disabled man with a prosthetic leg was found drowned in an irrigation channel near Jalan Kampung Sungai Tiang Baru in Selekoh, Hutan Melintang.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department acting operations chief Shazlean Mohd Hanafiah said the victim was discovered beneath a bridge, about two metres from the spot where he was believed to have fallen on Wednesday (Dec 17).

He said the department received a call at around 7.50am reporting a missing person. Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters found the victim’s wheelchair beside the irrigation channel, leading them to believe he had fallen into the water.
