A man was killed while four others, including a seven-month-old baby girl, were seriously injured after the car they were in skidded and crashed into an electric pole along Persiaran Tengku Ampuan, Section 22, earlier this afternoon.
The incident, reported to the Fire and Rescue Department at around 1:20 p.m., involved a 39-year-old man who was trapped in the driver’s seat. Four other occupants — a 38-year-old woman, two young girls aged four and seven, and a seven-month-old baby — sustained severe injuries.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Assistant Director of Operations, Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar, said the crash involved a Proton Saga FLX that had apparently lost control before hitting the pole.
“Investigations revealed that there were five people in the car. The male driver, aged 39, was found trapped in the driver’s seat. Firefighters managed to extricate him at 1:45 p.m., but he was later pronounced dead by Health Ministry personnel and handed over to the police for further action,” he said in a statement.
“Meanwhile, a 38-year-old local woman, two girls aged seven and four, and a seven-month-old baby girl suffered serious injuries. All injured victims were taken to the hospital by members of the public,” he added.
As of now, the identities and relationships of all victims have yet to be confirmed.
