Fear Of Serial Killer Grows After Three Women Found Dead In Mexican Tourist Town

Date:

Fears of a possible serial killer are growing in Mexico after three women were found dead under disturbing circumstances in the popular tourist destination of Puerto Vallarta.

Local authorities are now investigating whether the killings are linked, raising alarm among residents and tourists visiting the coastal resort town, which is especially popular with American travellers.

The situation has also intensified concerns over public safety ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with Mexico set to host multiple matches in just weeks.

The first victim was discovered on May 10 near the well-known tourist area Rancho El Piruli.

Less than a week later, a second woman’s body was found near a roadside rest stop along a highway.

Most recently, a third female body was discovered on a dirt road in the Parque Las Palmas neighbourhood.

Authorities have not officially identified the victims, although local reports suggested the third woman may be 22-year-old missing Mexican woman Elizabeth Martinez.

According to local media, the third victim had several tattoos, including an image of a horned woman covering her mouth, a skull tattoo and a woman’s name inked on her right forearm.

Investigators also reportedly found signs of violence on her body.

Police revealed that all three victims shared several similarities — including tattoos, similar age ranges and the condition in which their bodies were found.

Officials said the women were believed to be between their early 30s and 35 years old, while all were discovered partially clothed in isolated areas.

These similarities have led investigators to examine whether the murders may follow a criminal pattern.

Authorities stressed that investigations are still in the early stages, with forensic teams reviewing evidence, CCTV footage and witness statements to determine whether the women were killed elsewhere before their bodies were dumped in Puerto Vallarta.

Although Puerto Vallarta itself is not hosting World Cup matches, the city has direct flights to the tournament host cities of Guadalajara, Mexico City and Monterrey.

The recent killings have reignited international concerns over crime and violence in parts of Mexico.

Earlier this year, the killing of powerful cartel leader Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes reportedly triggered violent retaliation across at least eight Mexican states, causing widespread unrest, looting and travel disruptions.

Many foreign tourists were reportedly left stranded after witnessing violent incidents linked to cartel activity.

The latest murder investigation is now drawing global attention as fears continue to grow over safety in one of Mexico’s most visited tourist destinations.
