A 42-year-old female teacher pleaded not guilty at the Seremban Sessions Court today to five charges involving the sexual assault of a 14-year-old male student, with offences allegedly taking place between September last year and April this year.
The accused entered her plea after the charges were read before Judge Siti Aishah Ab Rashid, according to Bernama.
She is alleged to have committed two counts of sexual assault under a tree near an apartment in Seremban between September 12 and 20, 2025, as well as at a house on April 7 this year.
The charges were framed under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, which carries a penalty of up to 20 years’ imprisonment and whipping upon conviction.
In addition, she faces a charge under Section 377B of the Penal Code for carnal intercourse against the order of nature, which also carries severe penalties if proven.
She is further accused of sending indecent images to the teenager via WhatsApp between September 13 last year and April 10 this year at an apartment in Seremban, as well as allegedly instructing the victim to send explicit images of himself.
These charges fall under Section 15(a)(i) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, which provides for up to 10 years’ imprisonment, a fine of up to RM20,000, or both upon conviction.
Deputy public prosecutor Norazihah Asmuni requested bail of RM30,000 for each charge, while defence lawyer Zaflee Pakwanteh sought a reduction, citing financial difficulties.
The court fixed bail at RM20,000 for all charges combined and ordered the accused to report to the nearest police station monthly, refrain from contacting the victim or prosecution witnesses, and surrender her passport.
The case is set for mention on July 1.
