A firefighter was injured after being assaulted by a man who allegedly went on a rampage at a fire station in Tangerang, Indonesia, last Friday.
The incident, which occurred at around 2.30pm, began when the suspect arrived at the fire post accompanied by two other individuals and requested permission to enter the premises to drink coffee.
However, the situation escalated when the man allegedly became agitated after being advised not to cause disturbances. He is said to have hurled verbal abuse and thrown a drink at on-duty personnel.
The confrontation reportedly took place at a fire post in Pinang, Tangerang. The victim, identified as Hidayat, attempted to calm the situation but was allegedly chased and assaulted by the suspect.
As a result of the attack, the firefighter suffered injuries including a wound to his left temple and swelling to his eye after falling during the incident.
He later lodged a police report and sought treatment at a hospital. However, his condition reportedly worsened hours later, with symptoms including nausea, ringing in the ears and vomiting.
Police have since launched an investigation into the case as authorities work to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
