Handwritten “Guarantee Letter” From Passenger In Viral Flight Incident Sparks Online Debate

Date:

A handwritten “guarantee letter” allegedly written by a woman involved in a recent in-flight dispute has gone viral on social media, triggering widespread discussion among netizens.

The incident is believed to have occurred on a flight from Chongqing to Kuala Lumpur, where the passenger reportedly became emotional after facing difficulties communicating with cabin crew in Mandarin.

According to viral online videos, the situation escalated after the woman allegedly began speaking on the phone during the flight, leading to complaints from a nearby passenger who asked her to lower her voice. This reportedly sparked a verbal argument between the two.

The circulating letter claims the woman was trying to contact a friend who had not yet boarded the flight. She also alleged that the situation worsened after she began recording the incident, further escalating tensions onboard.

At around 1.58am, a flight attendant reportedly intervened in an attempt to defuse the situation. However, the woman claimed the issue was not effectively resolved, saying that communication with the crew in English contributed to her emotional reaction. She also argued that cabin crew on international flights should be able to communicate in Chinese.

The letter further suggested that the situation could have been managed more calmly through measures such as reassurance, seat reassignment, or removal of recorded footage. She claimed, however, that these steps were not taken, resulting in a deterioration of the situation.

The incident reportedly led to a flight delay of around 20 minutes, and the woman was eventually escorted off the aircraft by authorities.

Towards the end of the letter, she acknowledged that her behaviour was inappropriate, admitting she should not have raised her voice or engaged in conflict with others. She also stated her intention to manage her emotions better in future and comply with cabin crew instructions.

Interestingly, she further claimed that some passengers applauded during the incident, although this detail remains unverified.

At present, it is still unclear whether the handwritten letter is authentic. However, images of the document continue to circulate widely online, fuelling ongoing debate and speculation among social media users.
