Kuching Nightclub Raided For Allegedly Operating Beyond Permitted Hours

Police raided a nightclub along Jalan Tabuan in Kuching early Sunday morning for allegedly operating beyond its permitted business hours.

Kuching district police chief Alexson Naga Chabu said the operation was carried out at around 2.40am following checks on the entertainment premises.

During the inspection, authorities allegedly found the nightclub still operating despite exceeding the approved operating hours.

Police subsequently arrested the 50-year-old owner of the premises along with two foreign workers aged 20 and 22 to assist in investigations.

Several pieces of equipment from the nightclub were also seized during the raid.

According to police, all three individuals tested negative for drugs and were found to have no prior criminal records.

The case is currently being investigated under Section 24 of the Entertainment Ordinance 2001.
