A man has been arrested for public nuisance after allegedly slapping several individuals at a church along Prinsep Street on Sunday morning.
Police said they received a call for assistance at about 9.10am at the Singapore Life Church. However, by the time officers arrived at the scene, the suspect had already left the premises.
A 66-year-old woman who was allegedly struck near her eyes sustained bleeding injuries and was taken to hospital conscious for medical treatment.
Authorities confirmed that church services were not disrupted despite the incident.
The suspect has been identified as a 33-year-old Malaysian Chinese man. Police said he is believed to be known to the church community and had previously caused disturbances at the same location.
Investigations are ongoing as authorities work to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
