Man Pleads Not Guilty To Stripping Naked And Molesting Women In Johor

A former café waiter was charged at the Magistrate’s Court here today with six offences involving obscene acts, including stripping naked and outraging the modesty of five female factory workers while they were returning home from work.

Dinesh Kumar Jothee, 25, pleaded not guilty after the charges were read before Magistrate Arun Noval Dass.

Under the first to fourth charges, the accused was alleged to have committed acts of gross indecency by stripping naked and exposing his genitals to four factory workers aged between 23 and 35.

He was charged under Section 377D of the Penal Code, which carries a jail sentence of up to two years upon conviction.

For the fifth and sixth charges, the accused was alleged to have used criminal force to outrage the modesty of two factory workers and was charged under Section 354 of the Penal Code.

All offences were allegedly committed along Jalan Siantan, Taman Tanah Merah, between 1.15pm and 7pm from February 22 to May 8.

The prosecution was conducted by Deputy Public Prosecutor Firdaus Ruslan, while the accused was represented by lawyer Safiah A Aziz.

The court allowed bail at RM15,000 and imposed additional conditions requiring the accused to report to a nearby police station monthly and refrain from disturbing the victims or prosecution witnesses.

The case has been fixed for mention on June 25 for document submission.
