Missing 13-Year-Old Girl From Bandar Baru Ampang Found Safe In Kelantan

Date:

A teenage girl who was reported missing from her home in Bandar Baru Ampang last Wednesday has been located safe and sound in Pasir Mas, Kelantan. Ampang Jaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Khairul Anuar Khalid, confirmed that 13-year-old Nur Sofea Haton Abdul Hafiz was found at her aunt’s residence in Kampung Sipol Tok Uban. Following the discovery, the teenager has been officially removed from the national missing persons list.

The young girl’s whereabouts were established after a period of uncertainty that began when she vanished from her family home. According to the police, Nur Sofea’s parents have been formally notified of her safety and are currently making immediate arrangements to travel to Kelantan to bring her back. The authorities expressed relief that the case reached a positive conclusion without any harm coming to the minor.

Earlier media reports highlighted that the disappearance was believed to have been triggered by a domestic disagreement. Preliminary investigations by the police suggested that a misunderstanding with her family members led to the teenager’s decision to leave her residence. It was noted that Nur Sofea had packed a suitcase before departing, indicating a planned exit from the household following the dispute.

The girl’s father first noticed she was missing at approximately 7:00 pm on the day of her disappearance. After discovering that his daughter was no longer in the house and had taken her personal belongings, he immediately sought assistance from the local authorities. This prompted a search operation and a public appeal for information, which eventually led to her being traced to her relative’s home in the northern state.

Assistant Commissioner Khairul Anuar Khalid reminded the public and families to maintain open lines of communication to prevent such incidents from recurring. He emphasised that while the situation ended safely, the involvement of young children in run-away cases poses significant safety risks. The police have concluded their active search following the confirmation of her location and her well-being.
